Please join us for a one day conference at the University of Georgia. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Virginia Moyer, Chair of the United States Preventive Services Task Force. She will be talking about “When Clinical Evidence and Conventional Wisdom Collide: Lessons Learned by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force”. Using examples from recent USPSTF recommendations, her keynote address will lead participants to consider solutions to the challenges that arise when research-based recommendations conflict with familiar practices or strongly held beliefs. Smaller breakout sessions during the rest of the day will then feature many speakers from UGA, the CDC, and other institutions, all focused on developing and using evidence to move from successful research to effective practice across the human and animal health-related disciplines.

Who should attend?  Those interested in human and animal medicine, screening and prevention, nursing, social work, psychology, ER, physical therapy, speech and communication science, food and nutrition, obesity, and physical activity. That is, anyone interested in health and healthcare!
