The Institute sponsored our third annual conference on March 30, “Using Technology to Enhance Teaching, Learning, and Practice in the Health Professions.” Many of the powerpoint slides for the keynote address and break-out sessions are now posted on the conference website (http://ebp.uga.edu/conference). Of special interest, we have posted the video of the keynote by Kendall Ho, MD, FRCPC, “Leveraging eHealth in Education and Practice: Opportunties, Challenges, and Lessons Learned (So Far)”.
We invite you to be a part of the health professions community at UGA by applying to become an Affiliate Member of the Institute for Evidence-Based Health Professions Education. The Institute is jointly sponsored by the College of Education and the College of Public Health, and is intended to provide a forum for engagement and scholarship of all units and their faculty involved in the education of health professionals. Our Advisory Board includes faculty from COE, CPH, the UGA/GHSU Partnership, Family and Consumer Sciences, Social Work, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine.
Current activities include a seminar series, an annual meeting, and several research projects. As an affiliate, we hope that you would attend and present at seminars, network with fellow healthcare scholars, and collaborate on scholarship and research. This is also a forum for exchanging ideas about how to best educate learners in the health professions. If you are interested, see the application procedures: [Affiliate Invitation ]
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of the co-directors, Mark Ebell of the College of Public Health (ebell@uga.edu) or Ronald Cervero of the College of Education (rcervero@uga.edu).
